Therapy For New Dads
With a Therapist Who Is a Dad

Helping new dads and motivated adults resolve inner conflict by neutralizing painful history and making it safe to feel feelings

Therapy for new dads in Chicago.

You care deeply about your family, and you want to feel close and connected, but instead you may be feeling lonely, frustrated, or confused. You want to be a good parent, but it can be hard if you didn’t have good enough parents. But I believe you can learn to be a nurturing parent and attentive partner. New parents often experience fatigue, disconnection, or resentment in their relationship. You’ll begin exploring what it means to be a parent, how you were raised, and whether you want to repeat those patterns. Maybe your parents frequently made you feel unsafe, unloved, or worthless.

Therapists call this developmental trauma– something was broken in the attachment between you and your caregivers. The good news is that those attachments can be repaired- maybe not between you and the people who should have loved you better, but within yourself. I offer therapy for new dads and other insightful adults who are motivated to resolve this inner conflict.

Using EMDR and talk therapy, we’ll neutralize the pain you feel about your history and replace it with safer emotions. You’ll learn to explore your emotions with curiosity and resolve ambivalence about your upbringing so you can adjust to parenthood with greater confidence. Book a free consultation and find higher self-esteem and greater joy with your family.
