Treatment Modalities
How I partner with you
There are many ways to practice psychotherapy. Many therapists limit themselves to specific styles, or modalities, of therapeutic intervention. I practice an integrative model that draws on several different modalities to provide each of my clients with a well-rounded therapy experience that caters to their specific needs. Here are some (but not all) of the modalities that influence my approach:
-
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)--using side-to-side stimulation to aid your brain's natural healing process
-
Psychodynamic therapy--exploring how your past experiences influence your current functioning
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)--learning to sit with your uncomfortable thoughts and feelings while committing to pursue values-driven goals
-
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)--challenging your irrational beliefs with logic to change how you behave in response to adversity
-
Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR)--slowing down, breathing, and allowing your stress to run its course
-
Movement--releasing tension stored in your muscles and joints to ease tension stored in your mind
